The city of Franklin, Massachusetts, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Katelyn Mooney, who passed away far too soon. Her untimely departure has left an aching void in the lives of her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
Katelyn was a proud daughter of Franklin — born, raised, and rooted in the community she loved. She graduated from Franklin High School and went on to study Communication Studies at Framingham State University. Most recently, she worked at Teddy Gallagher’s Irish Pub, where her energy and warmth touched every person who walked through the doors.
To know Katelyn was to know kindness, humor, and heart. She was the kind of person who could brighten a room with her smile and lift someone’s spirits with a single text. Her laugh, her random jokes, and her genuine nature made her unforgettable.
Anthony Saster, a lifelong friend, shared a touching tribute:
“What can I say, Mooney. You were always so sweet and thoughtful. You always stuck by me growing up throughout school. Then later on you got close with my family, and other friends. Nobody was more the life of a party, and exhibited a sweet presence, more than you. I’ll miss your random memes you would text me out of the blue. Or your funny jokes, or quotes you’d spring on me. Rest easy, queen. Til we meet again. ❤️”
Katelyn’s loss has deeply shaken the Franklin community. Her memory will live on in the laughter she sparked, the friendships she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely.
