It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Brooke K. Brown of Painesville, Ohio, who died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 13, 2025. A shining soul with a kind heart and vibrant smile, Brooke was just 22 years old.
Brooke was deeply passionate about mental health and helping others. She began her academic journey at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in August 2020, where she studied Psychology with a Developmental Concentration. In 2025, she continued her mission to make a difference by pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a Substance Use Disorder Concentration, at John Carroll University.
Throughout her college years, Brooke left a lasting impression on everyone she met. From ridesharing drivers who came to know her through brief but memorable interactions, to classmates, coworkers, and professors—her kindness, gratitude, and bright spirit were evident to all.
Jeffrey Wilson fondly remembered her as “a joy to pick up and transport” when he drove Uber in Pennsylvania. Beth Henry shared, “She is at peace and completely healthy with Jesus,” recalling the time she spent with Brooke during her days at Allegheny College.
Close friend Lisa Tallat-Hairhoger offered heartfelt words:
“She was always happy, smiling even when she didn’t feel good… I am so happy I got the opportunity to meet her and eat dinner with her every day. She will always be in my heart.”
Another friend, Sam Remis, reflected:
“She was always so friendly and caring… we would meet at the food court and talk for a couple of hours. She was such a bright light in this world.”
Brooke’s compassion, resilience, and love for others will forever live on in the memories of those lucky enough to have known her. Her life, though short, was full of purpose and love.
She is survived by her family, who supported her through every step of her journey, and a wide circle of friends and mentors who will continue to carry her light forward.
May she rest peacefully, free from pain and embraced by eternal love.
