Maverick Westcott Obituary Milford MA, Died In Car Accident, GoFundMe

An early morning crash on Quaker Street has left the town of Milford and surrounding communities grieving the heartbreaking loss of 18-year-old Maverick Westcott.

The accident occurred around 4:15 a.m. on Monday, April 14, near the intersection of Quaker Street, School Street, and Quaker Lane in Northbridge. According to Northbridge Police, Westcott was driving a 2010 Honda Civic southbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road, flipped over a guardrail, and slammed into a tree.

First responders found the heavily damaged vehicle down an embankment with the roof crushed in. Westcott was trapped inside. Despite the efforts of emergency crews, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Chief Timothy Labrie confirmed in a statement that Westcott was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Team, led by Northbridge Sgt. Jeffery White, is working with the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

Maverick was a senior at Uxbridge High School, preparing to graduate with the Class of 2024. He was known by friends, classmates, and teachers as someone who radiated warmth and energy, a teenager who cared deeply and lived passionately.

“He was far too young,” wrote Zack Lala, a friend organizing a GoFundMe campaign on behalf of Maverick’s father, John Westcott. “But in his time, he left an impact on others that most people cannot do. We all loved him, and he loved everyone so hard with everything he had.”

The fundraiser, titled “Support Maverick’s Family”, is raising funds to help cover funeral expenses and offer support to the grieving family. Community members have already begun sharing messages of love and sorrow, remembering Maverick for his infectious spirit and kind heart.

As the investigation continues, the focus for many remains on honoring a life cut far too short and standing in solidarity with a family facing unimaginable loss.
